We stayed at the Loughshore Hotel for 5 nights last week in an upper floor room, with our coach tour. The whole experience was one of courteous and friendly welcoming from the outset. Meals were varied and delicious; rooms were large, clean, quiet and comfortable, public areas were well maintained and similarly clean and comfortable. The staff from reception, through dining room, housekeeping and entertainment, were polite, courteous and friendly. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would gladly return in the future.
Staff on reception and dining room fist class very helpful and attentive. Lovely clean and spacious rooms. Only complaint was noise in morning room was beside entrance we had window open it was a warm night but that's life.

The hotel an old building with lovely staff and a great deal of charm, and and has been standing as long as the Castle undergoing modernisation but retains it special listed building listing. It is rumoured to be haunted by the π» ghost of a young infantryman from the nearby π° Castle Garrison who fell in love with the landlords wife and was subsequently executed/murdered for his wayward love of this woman. A thousand years of history when you walk inside. Food, drinks and staff are all great at hospitality and MUCK in on all fronts - the house keeper might be your waitress at breakfast time π. Its all team work at Dobbin's. Prices are very reasonable and the labyrinth of bedrooms and are comfy. There is a labyrinth of steps and corridors, (No elevator) (NO AC in my room, there might be in others, so ask them) No ghost in my room either, please ask for that roomπ. The hotel is right in the heart of the town, lovely seafront walks available. I recommend Dobbin's Inn. In the three π bracket. (remember it's an old coaching Inn which has became a lovely hotel). If your on a tight budget talk to the manager, they are very accommodating to helping customers if they have capacity to do so. Outstanding customer service at a very local level. Go with an open mind and enjoy. Its not the most perfect hotel because it's an Inn of a thousand years, you can here the walls whisper as you walk around the ancient stone floors. Enjoy πβοΈβοΈβοΈ
Excellent traditional pub and restaurant. The food here is delicious and very reasonably priced. This pub has loads of naval character and is located in Carrickfergus center. Close to all the usual amenities and a short walk to the castle should you wish to stay here in one of their rooms.

Great play area for kids while you sit and catch up with friends. Children can be a bit rough so sitting as close to the play area is necessary. Food has got so much better, especially the burgers.
Inexpensive restaurant connected to a Premier Inn. Good service and the food is of a good standard. The menu is generic to other Brewers Fayres but here it is prepared well. The staff are friendly and attentive. The is also a good atmosphere within the bar and restaurant.

One of my children and her family recently stayed at the cottage for 10 days after arriving from Canada . What a beautiful person way to spend your holiday in Ireland. I can't say enough about the place. The BBQ hut it the back is a great place to spend a night . The cottage is just amazing and the owners are so helpful and friendly. They even helped the kids change a flat tire. I recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic irish holiday. Doesn't come any more authentic that a 250 year old cottage.
We had such a good time with Alison, Robbie and their friends! The house is as wonderful as described, with tasteful decor and plentiful amenities. It's 50 paces from the sea in a picturesque town, Carrickfergus - full of friendly people and good food. Our theater company is pleased to share its name: Fools Haven. We plan on returning.

Very friendly staff. Nice rooms. Breakfast was delicious. 10/10
Just had breakfast after an early morning start. Lovely people run it, super helpful and very kind. The breakfast was excellent too. I don't know if they offer breakfast without bed as a normal thing, but was so glad they did for me and my team. Thank you.

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
